Me, myself and a sea creature

in response to Sylvain's SL Week - s.02, ep. 01 - SELFIE
In July 2015 I began the experience of SL-WEEK with the primary theme: ME. So for this season 2 I thought that would be appropriate selfie.

in response to Paula's B&W Sunday - AFTER - BEFORE
All you have to do is to show a photo that you took in colour and then converted into black and white. The theme is “after and before” so start with the after photo

Lighting Giants

in response to Paula's Thursday's Special - NOCTURNAL

lighting cranes of an operating shipyard

The Mediterranean city of Pula in Croatia is known by its shipyard Uljanik, one of the oldest working in the world. Uljanik, built in 1856, dominates the skyline with eight massive cranes. When the town authorities started considering relocating the shipyard, lighting designer Dean Skira came up with the idea of highlighting them instead.
The lighting design can be adjusted for various occasions and celebrations. Blinds were used to prevent unnecessary dispersion and light pollution and to create additional diffusion effects.

Close encounter

in response to Sue's image-in-ing

Adriatic sea, Croatia
Cotylorhiza tuberculata is a species of jellyfish, also known as the Mediterranean jelly or fried egg jellyfish
It is commonly found in the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea and Adriatic Sea. It can reach 35 cm in diameter. It seems that this jellyfish's sting has very little or no effect on humans.
The smooth, elevated dome is surrounded by a gutter-like ring. The marginal lappets are elongated and subrectangular. Each mouth-arm bifurcates near its base and branches several times. In addition to some larger appendages there are many short, club-shaped ones that bear disk-like ends.

Take the Plunge

in response to Our World Tuesday

Adriatic sea, Croatia

in response to WPC - MIRROR
This week, show us a mirror. You can take this photo challenge literally, and find reflections in mirrors, or in the stillness of a natural body of water. Live in an urban area? Some skyscrapers are beautifully reflective of the cityscape around them. Or, use this challenge to take a photo of yourself in the mirror. Self-documentation is important, especially for those of us who are usually behind the lens. Enjoy!

Eye contact

in response to Paula's Thursday's Special - EYE CONTACT
This week we have eyes on the TS menu.
I went with the eye contact but you can go much wider in your interpretation of EYES: think not only of the organ of vision, think of peephole, bull’s eye, eye of a needle, think of London Eye.
Possibilities are many.
